Universal Ford Lincoln: Our Heritage
Universal Ford Lincoln has been selling new and used vehicles for over 65 years. The story begins back in Calgary, back in 1942:
1942 location on 5th Avenue & 1st St. S.W.
Universal Sales and Service began as a BA Service Station and was owned by Basil V. French

Joining the Ford family as an authorized Mercury and Lincoln dealer in 1945 the original building had its grand opening on August 15, 1945

In 1951 Universal added the showroom plus a large mechanical shop and an underground body shop. Rooftop parking allowed for additional space.
The northeast corner opposite the Summit was also acquired for service parking.

In 1959 Universal was sold to the Carnduff family (father and son) and D.W. (Donald) McDonald.
In 1964 D.W. (Donald) McDonald and B.J. (Barry) McDonald took over the ownership of the company.

1981 Universal was bought by a group of senior employees consisting of D.A. (Dale) Schotanus, D.G. (Doug) Reekie, G.A. (George) Revitt, O.J. (Orest) Sine and D.A. (Doug) Sangster.

January 29, 1983 present dealership opened at the corner of Barlow Trail and Sunridge Boulevard N.E., the former site of the Husky Truck Stop.
After extending the heavy truck and main service capacity by 10,000 square feet the dealership has over 55,000 square feet of building on 11 acres of land.

Winner of many sales and service awards along with being tops in customer satisfaction, has led the dealership to have one of the highest repeat/referral customer base in all of Canada.
Sales and Service Dealership Strathmore, AB
April, 1995 opened a sales and service satellite dealership in Strathmore, Alberta.
NOTE: We sold the Strathmore location as of January 17th, 2005.
